Who are we?

The AAMC (Australasian Alliance of Messianic Congregations) are Congregations (Kehillot) that practice Messianic Judaism in Australia and New Zealand. While each Kehillah is independent, we are one in the G-d of Israel, and as such represent a unified presence of Messianic Judaism in Australasia, in unity with multitudes of Kehillot around the world.

What is Messianic Judaism?

Messianic Judaism is an ancient religious movement from the time of the Apostolic Writings (also called the New Testament). We belief that Yeshua is the awaited Messiah of Israel, and just as the Apostles and followers of Yeshua followed Judaism and Jewish tradition, Messianic Judaism follows the same structure. Its current form re-emerged in the 1960s and 1970s.

Messianic Judaism believes that Yeshua is the Jewish Messiah, and that the Tanach being the Old Testament and Apostolic Writings are the authoritative Scriptures. Salvation in Messianic Judaism is achieved only through acceptance of the Messiah, Yeshua, as one’s Saviour, and Jewish laws or customs, which are followed, do not contribute to salvation.

Belief in the messiahship of Yeshua, His power to save, and His divinity are the core of Messianic faith.

Many adherents of Messianic Judaism are ethnically Jewish and argue that the movement is a sect of Judaism, all while maintaining the need for lost Israel and gentiles to return to the covenant and be grafted into the natural tree.

What do we Believe?

HaShem

HaShem is one, there is no other, He is the first and He is the last and nothing can compare to Him.

The S’hma is the cornerstone of our faith, and all 613 Mitzvot are included in these words.

Israel

Ahavat Yisrael (love for Israel) is our core foundation as we believe that Ahavat HaZulat (love for the other) and Saving a nefesh (soul) of Israel serves as the salvation of the entire House of Israel.

In the return of the B’nei Anusim (children of the forced ones) back to the land of Yisrael, to authentic messianic faith, as the integral part of the salvation of all of Israel.

The role of Messianic Jews in the world is to distribute the light, and becoming an Or L’Goy (light to the Nations) by introducing him (or her) to the covenants of Israel and the ultimate light which is the Messiah our righteousness, to see the “fullness of the Gentiles”.

The MaShiach

Yeshua of Natzerth is the promised Jewish Messiah, Who was spoken of by Moshe and the Prophets of Israel.

The MaShiach represents a Yechida (entity) within Israel, and any attempt to separate Yeshua from his Jewish people Reflects an Anti-Semitic view.

The Covenants

The Torah is G-D’s love letter to the Jewish people, which is a binding Ketuvah (marriage covenant), still today, until heaven and earth pass away.

The believers of the nations are invited to partake of the covenants of Yisrael, which is reflected in their lifestyle and commitment to HaShem, the Mashiach, and the Jewish world.

Starting with Avraham, an Oral Mascoret (teaching) was passed down to us through our Sages.

In the unique calling and role of the Messianic Jewish believers, and the calling of the Nations, to build the kingdom of G-D together.

The Geulah

In order to restore the MaShiach to Zion, we must rectify His Name through a return to authentic Messianic Jewish Faith.

That we can hasten or delay the MaShiach’s return based upon our actions, mitzot, and walk with G-D.
